So, the Day Text says that the simplified WT is a good thing, helping people that have difficulty reading.
Instead of encouraging people to read more & become better readers, go back to school, or get a good education, they'd rather dumb down so that all who have reading difficulties can be equally crap at reading.
Nothing this org does surprises me anymore.

Dumbed down people are easier to manipulate. Let's recap: no going on the internet to do your own research. No asking valid but controversial questions that might threaten the powers of the Governing Body. Discourage college for members, but encourage more time in brainless activities like building kingDUMB halls and field service. Discourage all critical thinking and private group discussions of WT doctrine. And the best is making everything that sheds light on the WT cult as being evil and from Satan. They like their sheep castrated and blind.

How to spot faders or "closeted" apostates in a congregation / meeting?

so i am awoken for several years now (never really bought the cool aid) but for family reasons i am still enduring everything.

but my wife knows ... .

anyway so yesterday we had this boring meeting and as i was sitting there trying to make time pass faster i looked around me and i thought who else feels the same as me and is completely bored?

It's not that easy man. Either they are not there or they are good at hiding it. I was a fader for almost 2 years and during that time I was awake, I was an MS, gave comments, did field service, manned the literature counter and all that shit. I can remember though singing my own lyrics to the songs and laughing to myself to keep my sanity. Unless you can read their mind it is tough. Peace.

my husband is still asleep but he will get up in about an hour for work so i'm going to quickly tell you my inconclusive conclusion.

i don't know if i can believe in god anymore.

i have come to the simple conclusion that he is either dead or evil but he is definitely not loving.

I went back and read your first post. I feel your pain, for real. So many are in the same situation that you are in. I hope that brings some comfort to know you are not alone. But it sounds like you are going too fast. Slow down and take it easy. Live you life and enjoy it. I don't want you to suffer from information overload. Peace.

i just want to take 1 post to beg those reading to speak up.

it was a big turning point for me and one of the best decisions i made.

i don't know where to begin but damn it feels so good to be free of mind control.

i'm only officially out since this past december but i was out mentally for two hot years under the close watch of my batshit crazy psycho parents who bothered me every sunday to see what i thought about the meeting.

it was necessary for me to lie through my teeth.

I got that idea about using a prepaid cell from my girl who got the idea from Gilmore Girls. I called it Theocratic Warfare also cause that's what it is. If God exists I know he doesn't want people who learned TTATT to keep it to themselves. Know what I'm saying?

Fading is never 100% successful is it?

mum phoned last night to see how we all are.

after fifteen years away from meetings and my old jw life you'd think my fade could be called 'successful' and for the most part it is.

.. my resentment at being lied to and having wasted over thirty years of my life has left me like a glass of water full to the brim, it only takes a tap to make a mess.

Man I feel you. That is why I decided to just go cold turkey and be done with it and DA myself. I've seen others do the fade thing successfully but they're still always just looking over their shoulder and wondering who they might bump into.

A friend of mine did the fade cause he learned TTATT and he wanted to just celebrate his own damn birthday with his family but he didn't want to be DF'd so he faded. Then someone who he **thought** was his friend ratted him out to the elders and the fool got DF'd anyways. See how that works. JW's are only your friends if you play by the rules set forth by the old angry fools in Brooklyn. But their loyalty always sides with the club, not you. There is no such thing as unconditional love in the JW club, only love which is shallow and superficial. I don't think that is the kind of love God was talking about.

I've also seen others who started to do the fade thing and lost courage so they went back to living their life of pretending. Man that's definitely not me. For a while I considered doing the fade but I'm not going to give them the pleasure of knowing that I might come back one day. I won't. Peace.
